March and Rally Regarding Delany Hall

Dear colleagues,

First, I want to sincerely thank the hundreds of you who signed (and encouraged others to sign) the petition calling for health, safety, and justice for our colleagues and students who work in, seek services in, or otherwise frequent Delany Hall. The petition is still open, so if you haven’t signed yet, please add your voice to the more than 1,000 people (including supporters from across CUNY and the greater community) who have signed so far! You can find the petition here:  Queens College: We demand health and safety action! – PSC CUNY

But this petition is not the end of our actions. We are taking further steps to press the Queens College administration to take the necessary steps to protect our members, students, and community from further harm. And we again need you.

As some of you may know, the PSC has filed a grievance over the health and safety issues at Delany Hall.  The grievance hearing between PSC Contract Enforcement and the QC administration, will take place on our campus on November 17th, at 1:00 pm.  Our next step is a march, coordinated with this hearing, in support of the Delany Hall community.  We will meet on the day of the hearing (11/17) at 12:30, at the flagpole behind Jefferson Hall (In sight of Delany while staying a safe distance away!). We will then march together to Kiely Hall, where we will have a rally and speak out to make our presence and support clear.

I urge all of you who can make it to be there – we are truly stronger together, and the administration needs to be shown that we as a community will not stand for actions (or inactions) that put any of us at risk.  Please  RSVP here to let us know you will attend.  https://psc-cuny.org/calendar/queens-college-rally-demand-health-and-safety-action/

In solidarity,

Erica Doran
